WHO AM I? I AM AN AMERICAN.

Lights. Camera. Action. Casually dressed in all black, Jackie Hicks, multi-awarded portrait photographer, stands behind her camera commanding nothing less than perfection.  It is unquestionable why notable clients  like Michael Vick (Professional Athlete),  actress Kellie Williams Jackson ( Laura Winslow; Family Matters), Chante Moore (R&B Singer), and everyday people entrust Ms. Hicks to capture the true essence of their being.  Employed for her signature technique she is able to explore the meticulous heart of her subjects ultimately producing extraordinary images.

“Who Am I?  I Am An American” is a series of captivating images that evoke pride, agape for America, and restoration.  Through the art of visual communication, Hicks’ images tell a story and are reminiscent of a quote from former United States President, Jimmy Carter, “We become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic.  Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams.” Hicks’ ability to tell a story through still film is what puts her work a notch above the rest. After asking herself “Who Am I?” she responds on film. She is an American living in the land of opportunity and using every new day to be better than she was yesterday. Hicks exceeds in all aspects of life and encourages everyone else to do the same. Therefore, we must free ourselves from prejudice, from fear and embrace the idea of being great.
